using Acad for structural calculations

What is the procedure to determine "section properties" of a drawings. For example I ahve designed an aluminium profile and I want to determine its Moment of Inertia and other properties. The figures produced by the Mass Properties list do not seem to make sense. If I import the drawing as a DXF into a structural design program and use it to determine Moment of Inertia they are totally different ? Has somone used AcadLT to determine section properties ? is there a simple programe that achieves this ? LT does not do that. Full AutoCAD does not do that without programming in LISP what you need it to do, or buying a 'structural' add-on: http://www.autodesk.com/estore, click on the Partner Products & Services. -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --
