Transferring Autocad LT to another PC...

I've spent a couple of hours researching this and can't find a satisfactory
answer.

I have a PC with a valid authorised installation of 2004LT on it.

I want to dispose of this PC (it's now 4 years old) and replace it with a
new PC.

I want to transfer my installation of Autocad to the new PC.

How do I do this?

Do I simply uninstall then go to the new PC and install it there?

It is an unlocked standalone version. I've read about portable lincense
tranfer programs but as far as I can see this only relates to locked
versions.

I've read the Help files, the manual, been to Autodesks site, looked through
this newsgroup and spent time Googling, but no clear explanation so far.

Any assistance or a pointer to an explanation would be appreciated.

I've transferred once before, and this worked.

I run Win 2000, which is very similar to XP. There are 4 registration files in folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2004\R9.0\ADLM

When you install AutoCAD, you have the option to register later. You can then copy the same 4 files into the same folder in your new PC. If it's not there, just use new folders to make the same filepath.

This probably isn't the 'proper' way to do it, but it worked for me a year ago without any problems.

Thanks Grant.

I have this folder and it contains three files : one xml file, one html file
and one dat file.

If no further info posted I'll try this. I'd have thought there'd be a
simple procedure to follow described somewhere in the documentation but if
there is I haven't found it yet!

Just install LT2004 like you did the first time.
