Tool palette images too small

In LT2008. Dragging blocks (individual files) from ADC to tool palette. Some of the images are unreadable, just a dot or two. The drawing files are saved with the image filling the screen. Changing the size of the image in the tool palette does not help. I have tried plotting to .jpg and .png, the images are grayed. What is the best way to make a nice image for the tool palette to display at a medium size?

Maybe the preview images aren't up to date.
See UPDATETHUMBNAIL and RASTERPREVIEW in LT Help.

Updatethumbnail is not an LT command, and only applies to sheet set manager anyway. Rasterpreview is set to 1. This is happening when I first create the tool palette, so this isn't the issue.

What do you mean by small? They haven't changed in size in many versions,
not for my blocks anyway.

Are you running on a larger monitor with a smaller resolution setting?
Are you trying to squeeze a detailed large file into a small image perhaps?
Post a screenshot of your TP... . "Some" may simply mean you need to rethink
what you initially saved the image as.

19" monitor @ 1152x864. Some of the icons look ok, it's just some that don't. In this screenshot, look at the top tool on the palette "drawing title". It shows up as a dot, but in the DC preview, it shows up correctly. I tried making it a .png, the result is the 3rd icon from the top. Also, while fooling around with this, I was trying to copy some of the leaders tools from the sample palettes, and accidentally deleted the whole leaders palette. I can't find it in ADC, can I get it back?

2008 creates a backup of your CUI after each edit, try recovering that:
YOURMENU.CUI.BAK is the typical name, located in the same spot as your CUI
in question.

Drag and drop from ADCENTER to TP, does the image then disappear?

I haven't tried that yet, but I just started customizing and haven't done anything except what you see. I had the same problem on the last version, 2006, that's why I gave up working on the TP's.

I have exhausted all the options listed above...

PURGE!  It works.  Just purge all the items out of the block's file & save, then update the image on the tool palette. Smiley Happy

I had this problem today. I have a block that has many other blocks inside of it. I would remove a few blocks at a time and regen the image. Eventually, the image was the correct size, so then I just had to hunt down the block. After I found it through trial and error I realized I could've just scrolled the the "Edit Block Definition" dialog box and you can see the extents of each block. That particular block has splines which appears to have been causing my issue.

I was going through the same issue i resolved it so what you can do first go to the "insert" by typing i and then there just on the right of the filter there is blue colour block option just click on it and then choose whatever you like extra large icon, large or medium etc.
