Text background

This is driving me mad now and I am sure it's something simple...
MTEXT on a hatched area and the background of the text is white and I would like it to be see-through so that it blends with the hatching.

Please help!

Dan.

I'm assuming the "white" is just a box around the text that is not plotted with the hatch. AFAIK you need to turn off the layer that the hatch is on prior to hatching in order to have the Text with the hatch continuous.

Turn off background masking in Mtext: while in Mtext, right-click, do so.
Or use PROPERTIES for after-the-fact fixes.

One thing I found recently, which probably has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, is the DIMTFILL variable. Setting it to 1 puts the background mask on dimension text (zero turns it off)...
I hope my info was useful, but if by some odd chance it actually solved your issue, feel free to mark your post as "Accept as Solution". Thanks! 🙂

you can just ignore islands when you are in the hatch dialog box.

I attached a screenshot because that option is in the expanded area and people sometimes miss it.

Cheers all. That's sorted it!

I'm assuming the Island Detection was the answer?
The only drawback is checking/unchecking that as you hatch different entities where you may need the island detected within the same boundary.
