Sticky pointer

I have just loaded my new version of Autocad Lt 2010 and find the cursor or pointer is very, very sticky. Simply dragging a line is quite difficult and certainly not what I am use to in all my previous versions. I'm fairly confident I have all snap modes turned off, but still the problem persists.

I am running an i7 processor as opposed to a Pentium 111 with my previous versions of Autocad Lt so it should be smooth as, what am I missing, can anyone suggest a fix for this problem, I would be most appreciative

slow/sluggish mouse, or is it 'jerky' as you drag it across the screen? Both
are an indication of a video card or Windows7's cutsey interface (what's it
called, you Win7 users?) straining under AutoCAD. Since you've addressed the
latter, I suspect the other.
