Spline Curve Fit

What I want to do is change multiple splines from "Show Control Vertices" to "Show Fit Points"

The problem is I have over 500 to do, and I cannot select each one individually and do it. It would do my head in.

Is there any way to change multiple splines all at once?

LT2012

Nope tried that. It won't let me change multiples. It just sits on curve fit

Sure? I just tried it with 6 splines.

Yep just selected 241 splines and it won't let me change the method in properties

EDIT:

I've just had another look, and no wonder I can't change the method, it's greyed out. What setting do I need to change?

Locked layer? I can't seem to do that in my file.
Can you share a DWG snippit from the file that still has the problem?

I've attached a drawing.

All those plans were created from a PDF using Adobe Illustrator CS2.

I converted them all into blocks. Of the two leftmost plans the bottom one is still the block and the top one is exploded.

You guys are more knowledgeable than me, but is there even a method of changing it without using the triangle point? If so, would creating a macro work??

Presume you wouldn't want them as polylines... (seems odd that it created splines rather than an arcs or that the polyline option doesn't create arcs for you)

Don't know if this helps, as I can't edit multiple splines at once, but the following commands change the method:

To Fit points: splinedit - F - X - (enter)
To VC: splinedit - F - P - (enter)

(And if my command knowledge was better, I could have written it properly)

You can right click and change them that way, but it;s still the same as using the arrow.

I don't see why illustrator change them to splines anyway as before it always did polylines / lines for everything.

I was thinking through the command line as thought it might be possible to create a macro that cycles through them all for you...

You could set the plineconvertmode=1 which would then convert them to polylines using arcs instead of lines. This can be done with multiples and with the "pedit" command...

I'm curious how Dean did it with 6 at once (possibly with full AutoCAD?) since it has it greyed out on mine too.

Changing them to plines would work, but I've found that slows the drawing down a bit.

I'm out of ideas then and leave it for the Elites to help!!

Pity, I was thinking I'd get a warm glow from helping out an "Expert Elite"!!

You guys are awesome!!

Illustrator conversions are pure junk: I would not has responded had I known LOL

AutoCAD will let me change the Splines, LT will not. Not sure why.

Here is your file.

Try other PDF converters: start with the one from dotsoft.com

Cheers for that Dean. I hardly ever use Illustrator because the Clients' are usually good and send us Autocad versions of the plans when we ask. Some however don't and send us PDF copies of the Autocad drawings.
