Selecting objects

Ok, I know this questions has been asked an answered here before, but I need
to ask it again anyway. When it comes to AutoCAD LT 2002 I am one rung
under newbie. My experience is very limited because I use the software once
or twice a quarter at most.

I have received a drawing from a client for which I need to make some very
simple modifications. This is my problem, when I click on the drawing
everything is selected. The only thing I know for certain is it's not a
grouping issue. About 6 months ago I asked the same question and somebody
gave me command that broke everything apart and I was able to select objects
on layers individually.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Joe

Type LIST and pick an object. If the result is a MINSERT or a Block
Reference, then the drawing has been converted to one large block. If it's
been MINSERTed, chances are the owner of the drawing has used this as a
"security" measure, and doesn't want you fooling with the drawing. If it's
just an ordinary Block Reference, you should be able to EXPLODE it.
