How AutoCAD works when saving a file:
- creates a TMP file.
-deletes the BAK file
-renames the DWG file to BAK
-renames the TMP file to DWG.

If your file location hiccups or handicaps AutoCAD, you see a lot of TMP files (which also means your files are not saving correctly). The fix need to come from outside the program.

Ofyou ar saving to a server (or PC or appliance etc), contact your IT and ensure you have full admin read/write/rename/delete rights to those folders in question.

Your connection to the server may be timing out or heavy traffic: consult your IT folks, they can monitor and find a solution for you.

When your save results in left over Sav*.tmp files... is the drawing actually being updated/saved - or has it actually vanished from the file system?
