Rotate Model Space

Hi,

Im trying to rotate the model space "Right 90 degrees" I have looked at
Viewport and UCS and can't make heads or tails of it. I also do not want to
effect the viewports I already have within several paperspace layouts /
viewports.

Thanks for you help. 🙂

Are you sure it's the model space you need to rotate and not the view in the viewport from paperspace ? which will effectively appear as it sounds like you want, i.e. - the drawing content will be rotated when viewed in the layout.

I am doing some building elevations and need to draw it from the Right, it's
definately the modelspace view I need to change.

The UCS command shows a broken pencil,

Thanks for you help.

Not sure what version you are using etc. and the exact method you want to use but try the following :-

Start the projected elevation as you describe (sideways on) and draw a line that you wish to be horizontal in the final view (i.e. vertical in modelspace ?). Then go back to paperspace and enter the model space viewport. From the drop down menus select :-

Tools
New UCS
Object

Then click on the left hand/bottom end of the line. Now go to drop down menus again and select :-

View
3D Views
Plan View
Current UCS

The elevation should now be rotated in your view but if you go back into model space everything will be as before.

Post this file, the answers you are receiving are going in
two different directions I believe.

In Paperspace, switch to floating model space with the viewport you want to rotate active. Type "dview" then enter. Select objects in the active viewport then enter. Type "tw" for the twist option. Type 90 or -90 for the twist angle. Hit Enter twice. Be sure to hit enter twice. I hope this helps.
