"Open File" dialog box works very slowly

For some reason my "open file" dialog box is working painfully slowly. Its taking 3-5 seconds to open folders and subfolders. Once selected the files open instantly, its just the navigation thats slow.

I hasn't always been slow and I haven't changed anything, so I started by reinstalling. No luck, still slow. This problem is only with AutoCAD, other programs work fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

If you open files across a network, check with your network admin
person on any changes that may have taken place there, or your
log-in, or your file access privileges etc.
Also go into OPTIONS and make sure correct and valid folders and
locations are assigned to all the LT search paths etc.

Check for shortcuts or links to folders or network shares in the folders
you are opening files from and on the desktop. Sometimes these can
pause the open dialog as it tries to resolve the locations.
Hope this helps,
