Plotting Problems - HP1220c

I have a HP 1220c printer at work and just started using AC2002LT.
Seems like my plots aren't centered. I went to one of the support sites
(can't remember if it was HP's or Autodesk's) and they listed a
"workaround" for users to purchase Adobe Pageready or something like
that for around $220 or so. Sounds like an expensive workaround to me.
Any ideas?

PS: I tried searching the newsgroup for this topic using the search
feature on Netscape, but I kept getting an error message. Sorry if this
post is a duplicate of other posts.

Not enough information, Scott:

If you are printing from Modelspace, did you check the Center Plot option on
the plot dialog box?

If printing from PaperSpace, and printing at 1:1 using the Pagesetup, does
placing your viewport in the middle of the page not center the image when it
prints out?

Driver you are using? Windows version you are using?

Dean,

I forgot to say that this rectangle didn't print properly as part of setting up
the 1220c as a "plotter" with AC2002LT. I set the printable area several
different ways but it still comes out funny. I was trying to make a 10" x 16"
area centered on a paper size of 11 x17, but the top horizontal part of the
rectangle is off the page while the bottom one is the full 1" up from the paper
edge. I went to the Autodesk support site and couldn't find anything. I went
to the HP site and found this: "HP Deskjet 1220C Series Printers - Centering
and
Scale Calibration Functions in AutoCAD LT 2000

ISSUE: AutoCAD LT 2000 has centering features
and scale calibration
features that may not function properly when
printing with the PCL printer
driver for the HP Deskjet 1220C printer.

WORKAROUND: Adobe (R) PressReady Basics,
available only with the HP
Deskjet 1220C/PS, includes a Raster Image
Processor (RIP) that converts
PostScript (R) printer language into the PCL 3
printer language. The centering
and scale calibration features in AutoCAD LT
2000 function properly when
printed with Adobe PressReady Basics or Adobe
PressReady. Adobe
PressReady, the full version of Adobe PressReady
Basics, can be purchased
from the Adobe Web site.
NOTE: The full version of Adobe Press Ready will
be unavailable in Europe
after July 2001.

SUMMARY: The centering feature in AutoCAD LT
2000 automatically centers
the drawing on the paper. The scale calibration
feature allows drawings to
be printed with the exact proportions that are
displayed on the computer
screen. The centering and scale calibration
features of AutoCAD LT 2000 will
function properly when printed on the HP Deskjet
1220C printer using Adobe
PressReady Basics or Adobe PressReady."

PS: I am using Windows 2000 on a celleron 700 with 128 ram.

Any ideas???

Scott

I would print out a dense plan right to the edge, print it out, manually
find the limitations of your printer, then manually set up an 'edge' on
screen you can print to: no software setting is going to do it for you IMHO.

I think you can set the printable area somewhere down the menus in the
plotter configuration editor. ... (No LT2002 on this notebook to
check.)

Scott,

I have the same system here ( HP 1220C and AC2002LT) and everything print
perfect.
Maybe you can send me one of your drawings (to my e-mail) and I'll try to
print here.
