I am assuming during the install process, the files on the cd are expanded, yielding the aclt.exe file. This however won't happen without installing the 95 lt version, which won't work without the floppy. Seems my old drive must have a corrupted file, as the program can't recognize this file in the original installation of autocad 2000lt on that drive. Any suggestions ? Thanks Tracy
It is one of the more absurd upgrade systems around. The same goes for
QuickBooks Pro. My hard disk failed and I had to replace it, pay for a
data recovery service to get the data back, and then go about
reinstalling all the software. With QuickBooks, I had to install and
register the first full version I had (7.4E circa 2000), and only then
would the 2005/06 upgrade version install. This is so absurd because
Quicken has my full registration and upgrade history!
The same goes for AutoCAD. Fortunately for full AutoCAD there is not
this hassle
With LT95, there is the original personalization floppy, and then
there is a personalised floppy that is written to when you install it.
It is this personalised floppy that has the modified executable
ACLT.EXE, and the ACLT.INI files that are copied over. Again, the
upgrade version of LT only looks on the hard drive for these files.
You might want to try a different floppy drive to see if it is just
your floppy drive that is having a problem reading it.
