orientation of text in layout

When i add text to a layout it plots vertical not horizontal as add and shown in the layout. Is this a setting issue?

Has your current text style got vertical set as an effect?

Also, are you using single or multiline text?

If you are using single line text. Do you just select the start point of your text and then press enter twice. If so do not do that press enter once for the text height and then make sure the orientation of the text is 0 degrees

Can you post a DWG with this problem? Plus a PDF to show the final effect you are experiencing.
