Opening AutoCad 2000 dwgs in AutoCad 2012

Is it possible to open an AutoCAD LT 2000 drawing in AutoCAD 2012?  If so, what are the steps...Thanks!

Start AutoCAD

Open...

Navigate to the File

Click the file.

 

If the file does not Open it may be corrupt.

Try RECOVER if this is the case.
