Opening an LT2013 file with LT2013

Our company has several licenses of AutoCAD 2013 LT.  We have a problem with one of our users.  She cannot open LT2013 files from other designers with her LT2013 program.  It tells her the file is in a newer version than her program supports.  Designers have to save their files in a 2010 format in order for her to use it, but they're all using the same version.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Is she opening the files by double-clicking the file name? Or is she opening LT 2013 first, and opening files from within it?

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂

She says she gets the .dwg file as an email attachment from a co-worker. She double-clicks the attachment and gets the versioning error. Other co-workers do the same thing, but in their case, it works.

Files on the Server or Local harddrive open okay?

It's never a good idea to open attachments inside email clients: park the DWG file in a folder on the user PC or network, then open it. See if that helps.

If not, walk over there and confirm in person her LT version number, her DWG file is indeed on her PC or on the server, then test it by openning that same file in that location in someone else' LT2013 seat.

I haven't heard back from her regarding the ideas you've had.  Once I hear back, I'll update this post.  Thank you for your help so far.

There are something you need to confirm.:
1, check the version of client who has issue. Is it same as others?
2, save the attachment to the Windows Explorer. Then open AutoCAD LT, and open the dwg file with the software. Please do not use double click to open it.

If the issue still exist, could you provide the screenshot of the customer?
