Object Enabler Problem

We are trying to use LT2002 with ADT 2. I have loaded OE 2.53i, but it does
not clean up walls in xrefed drawings. It seems to work OK if the plan
drawing is opened directly. We use xrefs extensively for plotting. I did not
want to try OE 3.3 because a save would convert the arch objects to ADT 3
objects.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Have you tried to open the Xref files with the OE enabled LT and saving,
before you open the master file?

I just tried that and it does not work. However, if you leave the xrefed DWG
open and then open the master DWG the objects do clean up correctly. If this
is necessary it is a major pain in the derriere. I am hoping for a real
solution, not a kludgy work around.

Thanks for the hint.

What are your XLOADCTL, VISRETAIN and XEDIT variable settings?

When I installed LT2002 it took-out LDD2, I have been told since, that I require the 2002 suite of programs to be 100% compatible!
My fix was to copy all the recent c:\prog foles\common folder\autodesk\files to the LT2002 root dir.
Then reinstall (fix files) for LDD2. This appears to fix the probs that I had. Give it a go.

Thanks, it now works.

I did not want to copy those files to the root directory, so I added
"Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared" to the search path in LT. That
seems to work.

Dean,

XLOADCTL = 0
VISRETAIN = 1
XEDIT = 1

I had already disabled demand loading of xrefs & the others are the default.

I tried a suggestion from another post that seems to have solved the
problem. I added "Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared" to the search
path in LT. I do not know what is there, but I find it odd that I would be
the first to experience this problem.

Thanks for your help,

It seems from your experience that the OE installer ignored your LT
installation in favor of ADT: I will have to experiment with that one and
see.

Actually ADT had been removed from that computer before LT and OE were
installed..
