my inch symbol has been taken over?

Can anyone tell me why in Autocad 2008 LT that when I go to put an inch symbol into a note, it gives me this strange symbol it's an e with a \ over it. I want to add a note that says 12" x 36" and it gives me 12e x 36e (of course with the backward slash over both e's). I can't figure out why? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a French or Canadian keyboard. Your keyboard
doesn't actually have to be from those areas, it just has to have been
set that way in the control panel.

It doesn't happen all the time, it's sporadic. Usually it's fine and then every once in awhile it'll do the e with the back slash over it, like it's in another language at times. It drives me crazy since this usually happens when your rushed. Any other advice?

Jerry's was the 'advise': you issue is not AutoCAD
related.

Dean, please translate. Are you saying I'm right, or are you saying that
I should stick with Autocad solutions?
