This object contains too many unknown fonts, and cannot be accurately represented within the editor. If you wish to preserve all font information click OK below, and then click the cancel button to dismiss the editor.

I have purged everthing that can be purged and still have the problem. It seems that in my options menu that the text editor application window is pointing to 'Internal' is this part of the probelm??

No, you just are using either too many fonts in too many styles, or you have
too many fonts in the mtext you are accessing, or you have fonts being
referenced that are not on your system.

There is no magic-bullet fix, you kind of have to just try it all and see if
it will go away (it may not in that one file or certain files, it happens in
2004 and lower).

It doesnt seem to be a problem with other CAD users on our network who are running on 2004LT also. They can edit text on the drawing I have the probelm with ok. Will keep trying as you say. Thanks for your help.

Did you ever resolve this, somebody here has the same problem.

Start with a blank dwg - as soon as I try mtext it gives the error message but then continues with mtext when I press ok

38 fonts in fonts directory

I fixed my problem by going into
tools-options-files-suport files search path
once in here point everything to autocads support path. Start in your documents and settings find your AutoCAD 2004lt files - R9\enu\support.
Also point text editor application to INTERNAL.

Hope this helps you out. If not get back to me.
