missing bak icon

I ri-installed acadlt2005 on new computer, works fine.. but the
bak icon is replaced by another programs icon. right click on
bak file properties says open with unkown application, can't change
to aclt (not applicable) even right clicking on aclt.exe (or any other
item in aclt folder) shows aclt icon but says not applicable.
Properties of aclt.exe show the following: Internal name, original
name, product name all say not applicable; under language it
states language neutral. And lastly when I go to convert bak to
dwg I get error message re changing file extension...., which I
never recall getting previously. Thanks for any advice

Windows always warns you about changing file
extensions, always has too.

The important question is when the extension is DWG
does it open in LT or not. A step you did not take? Or forgot to mention,
explain.
