MacPro hardware question

I am on a MacPro 2.1.  It is an 8 core, 3ghz model with 16gb ram.  OS is 10.7.5.  I have a very upgraded graphics card (1gb).

The autocad LT demo ran very smoothly, but the system requirements state macpro 4.1 so I am hesitant to purchase, but I need the software.  Can I expect it to work properly or am I asking for trouble?

thanks!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

If you was able to install trial version AutoCAD LT for Mac on your Mac Pro 2,1, then you will be able to use purchased version too. I have Mac Pro 3,1 (with upgraded graphics card, memory and HDD) and AutoCAD for Mac runs on it perfectly. The hardware restrictions applies mostly to old Mac models with poor graphics cards and single-core CPU.
I'm not sure will next version of AutoCAD for Mac run on Mac Pros 2,1.

(For future occasions: if you will have some questions on AutoCAD for Mac, please post in dedicated forum:
