LTscale

does anybody know of any good literature clearly and concisely explaining Ltscales and everything involved in them. We are having some issues with diffeent drawings and draftspeople and would all like to be on the same page.
TIA.

Where are you seeing the difficulty?
Model Space? Paper Space? Plot output?
Narrow your query down a bit.

well the specific situation is that a guy in our office (old school guy) drew a whole drawing altering individual ltscales to look good in his model space, to have different sized dashes etc. than he went into his layouts and printed it and they were all different from what he saw in model space.
so I was trying to help him resolve it and we set the PSLTscale to 0 and it seemed to make all of his lines appear like they did in Model space. This is not what I figured would happen, so I just wanted an explanation of LTscales and commands. something like an autocad tutorial would be helpful.

Search here for modman4 and LT scales PSLT, MSLT, CELT (and some more I think?).
I suspect it will be the most comprehensive and useful explanation that you will find anywhere. You won't have to go far.

CELTSCALE, MSLTSCALE, LTSCALE and PSLTSCALE, set them all to 1.
CANNOSCALE needs to match your desired plot scale for each viewport you are
plotting.

LTSCALE is global, you cannot set it for multiple objects as you explained
it. So either that did not happen, or the user used CELTSCALE to alter each
object. To fix, you need to select all the objects and set the linetype
scale entry in Properties (which is not LTSCALE) to 1.

You "fixed" a problem without asking what the cause was, or talking with the
drafter about procedures. I would start there to back track and
counter/suggest alternate drafting techniques.

Holy crap I got me an Honorable Mention !
I'd like to thank the Academy....
Seriously though it saves me lots of nattering. The only thing I have found doesn't work so well so far is the Batting linetype, which of course one wouldn't want to have annotative when you think about it. But the other stuff does work! You just have to start with it and implement it on an as-needed basis as well as in your template(s). And get that codger in the New Millenium!

(p.s. thx Chuck here's yer 20...)
