LT Upgrade?

Good afternoon,
newbie here...I am looking to buy AutoCAD LT but had a question. If I buy the LT version, can I later upgrade to the full version for less $ or do I have to buy the full version at full price? Also, how can someone purchase an earlier version of CAD if you don't want the most recent and would it be discounted?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
