Lt to 2008 back to LT

The drawings are created in LT2004 with Architectural desktop. I open them in regular AutoCAD 2008, work on them, save back to LT. When someone else opens them that only has LT, objects are missing, doors, etc. What is happening?

I think you are confusing your terms. LT does not come with ADT. ADT is
full AutoCAD based. The file format between LT and plain AutoCAD are
exactly the same. LT just does not have some of the functions of plain
AutoCAD.

Assuming ADT is like LDT, ADT has special objects that won't work correctly
in plain AutoCAD. If you work on ADT 2004 and then export the data to plain
AutoCAD 2008, you will get line work to replace ADT objects (I think). At
that point, if you read that exported file back to ADT you will see line
work. If you just open an ADT file in plain AutoCAD without exporting to
AutoCAD, you risk the ADT objects. Like I said, this assumes ADT is like
LDT, but what you are describing happens occasionally with LDT vs. plain
AutoCAD.

Check out the ADT file menu and help for an "Export to AutoCAD" function.

2008 is a different format DWG file, and a different AEC format (ADT walls
and doors for example) than 2004.

By opening and saving the file in 2008, you removed access to those
intelligent objects from any user in 2006 or lower (yes, that includes
2004).

Your choices: Explode the file to dumb it down to basic lines in 2008
(AECTOACAD command in plain AutoCAD 2008), or upgrade the 2004 user to 2007
or higher, or downgrade yourself from 2008 to 2006 or lower.
