Loading files over network very slow

We have just moved from a Novell/NT local server based environment to a remote 2003 server/XP set-up.

Opening the smallest of AutoCAD files from the network takes up to 5 minutes.

PC is new and NIC settings are at 100Mb full duplex.

Other applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc have no problem opening much larger files in a much shorter time period.

Copying the file through explorer to the user's local drive takes seconds and from there the file opens instantly.
This rules out a PC/Network issue.

Any ideas ?
Thanks all
