Intersection Snap not working

Hi,

My cad drawing does not snap for intersection on some of the lines (not all), it only works when I turned on the 'apparent intersection'

Check through everything, no Z value for the entire drawing. Intersection lines can be snap if i redraw it entirely, without using the existing points.

Any line that using the existing point will not allow me to snap the intersection, it just dont appear unless i turned on the apparent intersection.

*only 2d involved, no z value at all

Cant figure out what is happening, just worry that i missed out something that will affect the drawing in future.

Thanks

There is no intersection if INT can't pick it: could be these lines are not coplanar or not actually touching. This sems to be confirmed since it only occurs if you snap to existing points to draw these lines.

LT is not a good 'flattener' but it works best if you use PROPERTIES command and you go through and actually type 0.0 manually then hit <enter> at each Z entry for every entity type (even if it says it's zero, your accuracy settings in the file may be masking a small entry).

I have the same problem. I use XLINES horizontal en vertical. They have a 90 degree angle.

But when I want to draw polylines over them, only the MID osnap is working (MID for a XLINE?!?).

I use AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017.

When I trim the Xlines (they get lines afterwards), the osnap INTersection still is not working.

When I draw crossing lines the Intersection works fine.

A test if the problem is not that they are on different planes: zoom in, like real close to the intersection point, REGENALL then start LINE command, type INT and pick it. Does it stick? it does here in R2017 and two XLINEs, one vertical an one horizontal.

And yes, if you select your XLINE you will see three nodes: two "ends" and the "middle". these correspond to where you clicked on screen to create the XLINE objects.

If you are still having an issue @r_de_nier , @Anonymous

Maybe create a screencast video to show us what your workflow looks like.

Screencast is a free app that captures everything on your screen. It could help when addressing your question/issue.

Via an other forum I found the answer. The xlines were not all on the same hight.

For some reason the drawing I've got was not completely flat.

after using the flatten command everything worked fine.

It worked for me, thank you. I learned that showing 0" as the Z value does not mean that it is 0" necessarily!
