You have a software conflict. What that is can be anything, here are others'
posts and solutions:

I get the exact same problem!!!! Autocad suggested a hotfix download which also doesn't work.

Have you had any luck solving this problem? My computer won't let me work for longer than 10 mins at a time!

Thanks

Search around here, there is no one cure, it's a unique conflict on your PC
unless you run LT2002/2004

I don't know what to try really, our computer technician managed to stop this problem by completely wiping my computer. It stopped for a few months, but its now started happening again and is gradually getting worse! To the point where it is really wasting my time.
The computer tech guy knows nothing about CAD which is a great help!

We jumped from 2002LT to 2008LT - Could this be the problem? Opening old drawings, importing blocks created by 2002?

Thanks for responding!

No, upgrading does not carry over the problem.

>>>... It stopped for a few months...<<<
Find out what got installed or updated on your PC when it started back up
again: in the meantime, your tech guy needs to repeat your fix.

I have just spoken with the tech guy who has said that nothing new has been installed in this time. I turned off my automatic windows update ages ago so it can't be that.

We also don't have Norton Anti virus (I have read that can cause a problem).

Certain commands seem to set it off more than others, Trim and Copy tend to crash it. And importing things especially blocks from other drawings can sometimes do it aswell.

Our tech guy won't reboot my computer again - He is saying it is a waste of time if the problem is going to keep coming back, plus my company won't pay him to do it ....

Any ideas?

I've found that there is a solution to this, it is just not available from autodesk. I would suggest you search the internet as they don't like people promoting add-ons on this site.

Pay the tech to reinstall, then lock you out of all installs and updates
(limited account user): this will prevent it from happening again.
