How to install / activate AutoCad on a second PC?

Hello folks,

I found on Autodesk website (http://knowledge.autodesk.com/installation-and-licensing), that I can use a stand-alone license to install a copy on a second PC. It's sufficient for us, that just of of the PC's can run the program and not both at the same time.

Unfortunately I didn't find any description on how to install and especially activate the copy on the second PC.

Can anybody guide me?

Thanks, Frank

You install and authorize on the second PC just like you did the first PC.

Note: if this is an EDU license, a second PC use is not an option.

How do you do this if you are 12,000 miles away from the home office IT department (who have the disk) and you want to move the application from your laptop to a desktop machine?

Read this:
http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-...

Then ask your IT Dept for the serial numbers and all the other stuff after they give you permission.

hello pendean,

I have the Serial Number but I'm not sure what "all the other stuff" is?

I went to,
http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcartic
les/sfdcarticles/How-to-re-download-software.html as you suggested, and went
through the steps outlined.

I'm copying Albert, our IT Lead, on this message and I will leave it to him
to tell me if this is allowed by Company policy. If he says it's OK I will
try installing the software tomorrow.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

Your IT will know what all you need: they're smart enough to know or they wouldn't have the job they do.
If not, talk to your bosses about it. We way over here can't do anything about your company's licensing restrictions or policies or your IT dept.
