Extracting Attribute Values in LT

I just want to extract the coordinates and number of survey locations that are represented by point blocks from a drawing.

My template is on the desktop and is named

TAYLOR EXTRACT.txt

BL:NAME C008000

BL:COMMENT C008000

BL:NORTHING N0010003

BL:EASTING N0010003

I get the attribute extraction menu

select some points, verify that points have been selected

specify the above template

Specify the export file name

select ok

returns 0 records

Hello

Presently I havn't a PC with ACAD, but just a "crazy" idea :

Have you tried with a "classic" filename : "EXTRACT.txt"

(without any special char, no space, etc)

Bye, Pat

Try this

BL:NAME C008000

COMMENT C008000

NORTHING N001003

EASTING N001003

The BL: isn't required for the attributes

Hello Steven-G

You are absolutely right !

BL: is required only for props block, for example :

bl:layer c020000
bl:x n009003
bl:y n009003
bl:name c020000
c:quote "
c:delim ,

Bye, Pat

bl:Easting n009003

getting invalid field specification

in the properties box I have the following fields I've put the values in quotes

comment "a name or number"

GNSS_Height "4.689"

Northing "87526.317"

Just a thought so you are not getting hung ont he number of characters: Add two or three to everything 20 to 22, 9 to 12 or whatever.

And do you have a blank a tthe end of yout Extraction file?

i.e After the Easting string did you hit Enter once and only once?

First Thanks for taking the time to reply

I backspaced to the end of the text & then pressed enter.

added additional places as suggested which resulted in the following:

bl:comment c025000
bl:GNSS_HEIGHT n006003
bl:Northing n010003
bl:Easting n010003

command line replies: 0 records in the extract file

Hello

There is something very strange in your DWG !

Because with my gabarit >>>

BL:NAME C020000
BL:LAYER C020000
BL:X N014004
BL:Y N014004
C:QUOTE "
C:DELIM ,
Comment C030000
GNSS_Height N012004
Northing N012004
Easting N012004

<<<

And ONLY if I redefine your Block, I can do a correct (with records) Attribut Extract following the gabarit ...

I have tested with a good old ACAD LT 2004 and with an AutoCAD MAP 2012 !?

SAME problem ! But NO Problem with my new Block with the same attributes ...

Waiting for other inputs !?

Bye, Pat

Leave out the bl: autocad is looking for an attribute tag bl:Northing and it doesn't exist so it can't extract anything. The BL: is only for block information
