i have a problem in that i can open a file in autocad lt 2011, i can then save as dxf file, but when i try to import dxf file into another program it is coming up blank.  Please help

DXF files can be many different formats: your other program probably requires one of them instead of the default you are using.
Try again and pick a lower format DXF than 2011.

Thanks Dean, i have tried different versions, not working....  we import files on a regular basis from this same source with no problems, but this one has me stumped.  saves ok and will reopen in autocad but will not import into other program.  Never had this problem before.

What format DXF files did you try?
If the problem is one file, use -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command (there is a dash in the name) and knock it down to R14DWG format, open that new file and try a DXF export again.
