Export parts list

How can I export the blocks that i created to create a parts list.

Example:

I have a drawing with several different custom Blocks in it that i created.  How can i extract the blocks to a excel spreadsheet so i can see how may parts(blocks) i need to order?

The Blocks need Attributes in them, then you can start examining ATTEXT command and it's many expanded topics in HELP to see if you can get started: post back with specific questions if you get stuck (and mention which version of AutoCAD/Excel you are using).
