Error "Copy to Clipboard Failed"

  • We have 10 MB drawing file containing Electrical Network Map
  • In both AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD 2013 LT, we are not able to copy the entities to clipboard due to Error "Copy to Clipboard Failed" (the task is to copy entities to another drawing using “Paste to co-ordinates” option)
  • There was NO such error in earlier version of AutoCAD 2008 in same computers (Dual core CPU, 2.8 Ghz, 2 GB RAM)

Your file contains many objects from other variants of AutoCAd as well as third party programs: probably why you are having issues.
You probably ought to empty your Windows USer Log-in Temp folder too, ask your IT Support on how to do that.

I ran AECTOACAD (or -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD) command on your file, then PURGE command, and after that I can copy/paste anything I want in it. Your file supplier should be doin that for you instead, talk to them about the files. See the file size difference?
