Drawing Templates

I modified my drawing templates and saved them using AC 2008LT but when someone with and earlier release than 2007 tries to open them all the information in the template is not carried over to the drawing

Will older releases of AutoCAD not read templates that are created by a newer version?

Is there a better way around this other than saving it as a dwg file for an earlier release (say 2004) and then creating the template with that version?

Cheers

Versions of AutoCAD prior to A2006 will not open A2007 files. You could save
your file in an earlier version format if you wish. Is this your problem?
There is nothing magic about templates - they are just drawing files with a
DWT extension.

I had a feeling that was the case. Most people in the office use 2005 so it's just making sure they can use the drawing templates. I'll just have create the templates with an earlier version.
