dimension nodes wont stay put

when i do a run of dimensions and then realise i need to move the lot of them up the page it moves the nodes with it!

is there any way of them staying where i originally placed them? its so anoying!

How did you "move" them?
What is DIMASSOC variable set to?
Did you use OSNAPS to snap to the objects?

i highlight them all and use "move" comand.

i cant work out what changing the dimassoc even does but its set at 2.

snap is on.

its just weird because when you want to just move one dimension (dragging not move comand) the nodes stay where i put them, i just want to be able to drag multiple dimensions at once closer or farther without the nodes moving with them
