Deleting a Data Link

In my AutoCad LT drawing i have a couple of Excel sheets Data Link attached to it. I have no requirement for one of these anymore so have deleted it. However, I cannot delete it from the Xref Dialogue Box. Every time I open the drawing it tells me there is an error loading it which is not right. I have searched the Forums but the only answer i can find is to run a lisp program which I understand LT wont do.

If you just selected the datalink in the drawing and deleted then it will still be referenced in the drawing, start the datalink dialogue and right click on the link name and select delete, that should clear the datalink.
