Defining attributes using the command line.

Hi,

For some reason I cannot get the ATTDEF Dialoge box to stop appearing and get the command line prompts.

I have all the system variables set correctly -

FILEDIA = 0

ATTDIA = 0

CMDDIA = 0

The ATTDIA should surpress the diaolog box and give me promts but it does not.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Mike

I am runnning autocad LT 2011.

Try the command -attdef

-attdef is a different command.

It displays five or six options dealing with the visibility, mode, ect. for atribuites but does not actually create them.

Thank you for the responce though!

Did you follow through with the prompts, it does create them.

steven-g is correct. Complete the Command from the Command line and the Attrib will be created.

ATTDIA does not affect the creation of an Attribute. It is for the dialog related to the INSERT Command

ATTREQ will suppress the Edit Attributes Dialog on insert. No request is provided even at the Command line.

I could not get the Edit Attributes Dialog to default to the Command line - When using the Palette.

ATTDIA set to 0 will use the Command Line when using the INSERT Command or when dragging from Design Center.
