Cursor drag

My cursor really lags when I move from the menu to the model space. Has anyone else experienced this problem. lboling@autonomictechnologies.com

I have this too! Cursor moves normally everywhere but in the drawing window, where it flickers and appears to be moving slower. Very hard to draw quickly because you're never where you think you should be.

I'm running LT2009 with Vista on an HP xw4600 workstation. I recall having a similar issue years ago when I last got a new computer and re-setup AutoCad. If I recall, it had something to do with the mouse. I saw something in the Autodesk knowledgebase about changing mouse drivers, but don't seem to be able to do much in Vista.

Anyone have a suggestion?

I also have this problem. Everything lags behind cursor as if it's hooked to a rubber band. It only happens in the drawing window. I'm using LT2009 on a new machine running Vista Business 64bit. the graphics card is Nvidia's fx1700 (Autocad certified) the mouse is a basic ms. optical. and I have a SpaceBall installed. All drivers are current and 64 bit compatible. I have also installed LT2009 on my Vista 32 bit laptop with no problems.
I would appreciate any help. I can not use the software as is.

I am still having the problem but it comes and goes. When I use the software on an auxillary screen off my laptop the cursor acts normally. Seems to be a systemic AutoCAD problem.

>>>...on an auxillary screen off my laptop the cursor acts normally...<<<

That would describe a hardware issue with your laptop and the primary
screen, since your add-on screen is running at lower settings. AutoCAD will
not correct hardware defects no matter what driver you use.

Uninstall or Install a mouse driver: VISTA is just like XP when it comes to
mouse drivers, unless your IT dept locked you out.

The wheel mouse optical drivers are current as of 11-26-08. I have installed several different mice with no change. I have uninstalled the Spaceball; no conflicts here. The mouse works great in all applications, including UGS Solidedge and Transmagic. The cursor works fine in Autocad until you move into the drawing window.
What next??

Current mouse drivers mean nothing, LT2009 stopped changing earlier this
year based on conflicts that most likely only existed last year. SolidEdge
and TransMagic are not based on LT2009 or AutoCAD.

Uninstall the mouse driver, attach a tethered mouse, restart Windows, let
Vista run the mouse, see if your dead mouse remains.

Repeat test for Video Card Drivers: best way to do that is to kick Vista
into minimum startup mode with not peripheral drivers loaded. hardest way is
to uninstall drivers (not recommended, check with your hardware
manufacturer, or uninstall the certified drivers).

Find the conflict beyond what you have done so far. Report finding to
Autodesk for resolution once you do if there is no obvious fix (like
installing older drivers for these devices).

There is no easy fix for unique hardware conflicts (unique in the sense the
majority of LT users are reporting the same problem).

Initially Vista pnp drivers ran the mouse, I upgraded to the most current drivers hoping it would solve the problem. No luck. Also the hatch command dose not display hatch fills. Can these problems be monitor related? I'm using a Viewsonic Graphic series monitor with Vistas on board pnp drivers. These are the only drivers available.

Problem fixed! The Nvidia Quadro fx1700 driver version 178.13 is not compatible with LT2009 in my particular hardware configuration. Thank you Nvidia for your driver archive, and thanks Dean for your help.

I just finally solved my problem (I think) as well. Nvidia still doesn't have an AutoCad approved driver for my video card, but they just came out with a beta version of one that seems to be working much better.
