Create .pdf files in AutoCAD LT 2006

Further to the discussions regarding the inability to create pdf files from plot routine. I was tempted to upgrade from Acrobat 5 to 7, with the result that Distiller now doesn't work, but instead crashes the session. I can't find a driver anywhere to reload, as suggested in one of the replies to the originally raised problem. We don't have a copy of acrobat reader 4 or 5 to reload as they were originally downloaded over the internet. Any other advice folks.

Have you tried any of the other pdf writers available on the
web?
I use pdf995 w/o problem. Maybe not the sophistication
needed?
Do you need to be limited to Adobe?
