The "X"'s in the minimize, maximize, close space are missing from drawings and the recovery manager. I have to close Acad and restart to get them to reappear.
How to fix?
So, just for clarification, you're not seeing this in the upper right hand corner of Autocad:
or this above the recovery manager?
Ribbon on or off?
MENUBAR on?
Provide a screenshot of the entire upper left corner of the AutoCAD program (when it and your drawing window are maximized of course) if you can.
Found the snip tool and captured a screen shot, but can't post because of a size limit. how do I overcome this?
Saving as a .jpeg? Tried putting it in a .zip file?
It doesn't though.
Also, here is a screen shot of the divided view. Notice the "X" in one of the corners. That disappears when I maximize the screen. And, notice the pulldowns floating in the desktop. These did not follow acad when I drug it down to get a screenshot. If I move them, they stay, and have to be moved back when I maximize.
By the way, all of this is ACAD LT 2012. ACAD LT 2008 had none of this on this PC.
Now I can't attach a screen shot. It was telling me it was too big, so I had to downsize. Now it accepts the message, but strips the screenshot.
See attached screenshot: your drawings are not maximized within the AutoCAD program window, an instruction recommended to do early on in this thread.
You are not reading the thread. The "X"'s show when there are minimized windows. The "X"'s dissapear when the screens are maximized. See the previous screen shot.
Sorry, too many screenshots: you seem to be cropping and not resizing images: what are you using?
Does having the AutoCAD program maximized help (not seen in any of youor screenshots)?
If you switch to a ribbon based workspace does the issue go away?
Did you 'migrate' from an older version when you installed or first ran LT2012?
Is LT2012 fully updated and patched?
LT2012 does not do that here in classic workspace or Ribbon workspace, so you either have a bad installation or a limited Windows user account that is the issue. You're not going to find a fix without either changing your Windows log-in (like try a new one) or a removal and reinstall of LT. If it still happens, you might want to seek help in the installation forum instead of here.
In the first screenshot, the window is maximized, and the X is missing. (This also happens in Drawing Recovery, except I have to shut down ACAD when this happens to close recovery.)
Do not use ribbons, or know how.
ACAD is fully updated and patched. It is also reinstalled and repaired.
It is not a migration.
It is installed under Full Administration in Windows.
These problems started after a few weeks in ACAD. They were not present at installation.
You're going to need to try two things, well three actually:
- Windows 7 Restore back to a week or month before all of this broke. Find out what got installed, remove them all. You may have to patch/repair LT2012.
- Log in as a different user, full admin rights, and see if the problem goes away on it's own.
- The painful process of removing all .NET and LT installations from your PC, manually cleaning out the Winndows Registry (after you back it up), then using a quality Registry Cleaner to finish the job. Restart your PC and reinstall LT2012.
You might try searching through the installation forum to see if there are similar issues and what the proposed fix may be if none of the above. Or you can post there and see if any Autodesk staff have tips to share.
