Can't copy/paste between drawings/ uncomprehensible heavy drawings.

Hello

I'm using ACAD LT 2008.

When i try to copy paste some drawing entities from a heavy drawing file to any other file, the program blocks and says 'not responding', endlessly. So i always have to shutdown the program. I experience the same problem using the designcenter: when I try to copy a layout into another drawing, my computer gets stuck.

Another annoying problem with these files is that they are so heavy, while in fact they shouldn't be. I tried the aectoacad file command. In result the file id half as big, but after I open it and save it, again is the original size.

I experience this problem since I entered some entities from other files, other vector programs. The drawings are fully purged.

I am desperate of help!!

Hi, have you tried to WBLOCK the drawing after you have done the aectoacad command? Sometimes this will get rid of unwanted "baggage".

Why do you need AECTOACAD? Are these files not created in LT?

Audit?

Purge?

As well as the WBLOCK?

He is running 2008.  Maybe the scalelist is running wild on him.

Same problem here. Heavy drawings, copy-paste(clips) malfunctions.

We have solved it by:

save as dxf file

close and open the dxf

-purge (notice the minus in front of purge!) > all (in the bottom)> enter > N > enter

audit > Y > enter (takes a while)

purge (no minus this time)

That's how it worked for us

Oh and save as dwg finally!

Sorry about that

I tried this method, and it did not work for me unfortunately.  I am having the same issue as the original poster, but in AutocadLT 2013.

Is this a problem in one single file? Or all files? even in a new file?
If in all files and even new files, what's different today/this week/this month on your PC (since LT2013 is three versions old now)?
