CAD freezes when accesing a network drive

I have lots of files and folders in a SNAP SERVER 4100 (I'm not screaming ok?)all but one folder can be accessed with no problem from one particular PC, I have no problem accessing from other computers to the same network drive and same program, what can be?, any idea?

Thanks

If you move the content to a new folder, does it still misbehave?

I cannot move the content of that folder easily 'cause it have more than 40Gb of information that needs to be accessed by more than 60 users.

Could be the ammount of information the problem?, Does ACAD LT have enough power to handle one big folder with hundreds of sub folders with thousands of CAD files (+50,000)?.

Is there anyway to deactivate the preview function in the open dialog box?

By the way, I used the FILEDIA command to deactivate the OPEN window, and there was no problem opening the file in the network, so should I assume that the problem is the AutoCAD interfase?, what is then the maximum reccomended ammount of folders for AutoCAD LT?

Never came across such a limitation in AutoCAD or LT.

Hi,

I read somewhere on this forum a while ago that digital signatures may cause
slowness when browsing networklocations. Try turning the display of digital
signatures off. Options --> Open and Save --> Uncheck Display digital
signature information on lower left of dialog.

Denny emailed a reply to me that this issue was resolved by removing a
broken shortcut to an uninstalled program and then the delay was gone:

"...a Shortcut to a program that was deleted (it was not related to
Autocad - just a shortcut to an Access Database) but nevertheless caused
the hang on Autocad LT 2004. Deleting it solved the issue."
