Autosave problem with LT 2010 on XP

I am getting an error message "WARNING: invalid or read only directory specified for autosave". I have followed the directions through "help" and that does not solve the problem. What do I need to do to specify the correct directory?

Error message says you are locked out of the folder currently identified.

OPTIONS command>Files Tab>Automatic Save File Location.. specify a folder
you have complete access to: I'm a control freak so I created a TEMP folder
on my C: drive and point to it.
