Autocad lt 2015 leader attachment

Opened a legacy drawing into Autocad LT 2015 that shows multiple text and dim leaders appearing to not be associated with anything and covering my drawing workspace.  What is the cause of this.

Two ways to read your post...

DIMASSOC turned off?
OR...
'legacy' AutoCAD didn't have MLEADERs, only LEADERs: text and arrows remained separated all the time. Only MLEADERs that are not exploded keep the arrow and text together as s ingle object.

My DIMASSOC is turned on to (2) by default and I tried setting it to (0 and
1). This did not work. I have saved the drawing down to several versions
2000, 2007, and 2010 and successfully opened both 2000 and 2007 with
Autocad LT 2007. The drawing is normal in that version so it is a problem
with 2015. I'm not certain when MLEADER came to be, but does your second
suggestion come with a solution for opening this drawing in latter Autocad
versions that included MLEADER? I would like to work it in 2015 as I have
several to work on.

DIMASSOC only works before you place any items, not afterwards. But if saving files down fixes the problem then I'm not sure we are talking about the same things.

Got a DWG to share? Point to the items in the file and elaborate how it's broken in 2015 but not in 2007.

attached is the image of the file after opening in 2015 LT. I cannot
isolate those lines to turn them off nor can I pick them. When I save the
drawing to 2007 so that I can open in 2007 LT, those phantom lines are not
there. I would prefer to use my 2015 LT but need a fix for this problem.
Your thoughts?

Nothing attached.
A DWG is more helpful that a picture to figure out the problem.

I have attached the dwg in question. Again the issue is opening the
drawing in AutoCAD LT 2015 which I just purchased. I have also tried
opening another file and produced the same results of what appears to be
leader lines consuming the drawing; the drawing opens but is consumed by
fly-away leader lines. The drawing, when I received it, had been saved in
release 2013 before I opened in 2015. This does not mean the drawing was
created in 2013 as I am sure it was from an earlier version. If I save it
down to 2007, another version of AutoCAD LT that I have, the drawing opens
fine in AutoCAD 2007.
I hope your expertise can find the solution as I am in need of a patch or
fix to continue my work with my client. Thank you very much for taking a
look at this.

Best Regards,
RonnyD.

nothing 😞

Do you have Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive or similar you can use instead to share your file?

Can you email me the attachment to moderator@autocad.com.

I'll attempt to attach it for you. If i can then we'll try to figure out why you can not

Thanks

I have Dropbox, but with whom am I sharing it with?  I have also attached the .dwg file with this notice. Perhaps there is a problem with my attempt to attach the file.  Once I do, it shows up below as an attachment; then I select Post.

Hi Ronny,

For the problem that you described, if it is what I think, try changing the variable LINESMOOTHING in AutoCAD to Off. Let us know if that helps.
