AutoCAD LT 2013 VideoCard Guide

your website is full of crap and unuseable information.

Your online technical requirements guide have leukemia.

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?id=18844534&siteID=123112

We need to know which videocard are supported by AutoCAD LT 2013.

I tried googling for two days and found nothing.

Your product is so expensive and as a new customer we are already frustrated with your support.

I want to apply for your company to become the director for QA for Customer Experience.

Im about to become the new customer if only we can find the answer.

We tried asking their technical support and we are directed in this forum.

You can even provide a vital list for videocard for autocad LT 2013.

We only need to know which videocard are supported by AUTOCAD LT 2012 (2D Only)

CAN SOMEONE from autodesk please answer me.

Can it support Nvidia NVS 4200M and Nvidia GT 525M? SInce the world is more mobile now. Our users have problem chugging Heavyweight Dell Precision.

If there was one, you would have found it.

Autodesk Supported Graphics Cards List and drivers has always been here:
http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-graphicscard

But LT is not AutoCAD, so there is no specific LT requirement since it is considered a 'consumer-friendly' version, no workstation required. Start with AutoCAD as the base choice if you must select something. Realize many of these drivers are for established Video Cards so you will be hard pressed to find any brand new cards being supported just yet.

General Advise that's been around for a long time: if you are buying a laptop, don't bother with the list above, Laptops are for the most part under US$1500 (lightweight laptops you mention) are not great when it comes to finding high-end supported graphics cards. There is no fix/cure for them. Chugging time is required.

NOW PAY ATTENTION... This is peer support: we are all end-users like you. If you want to talk to Autodesk direct, try one of these avenues:

Though I did not count there looked to be a hundred or so video cards in the matrix.

Good luck!

Hi Charles,

Thank you for your fast reply, although their are a lot and  hundreds of videocard listed but none are specific to AUTOCAD LT 2013.

I just hope that Autodesk will take it more seriously because its no joke buying 5 laptops and 5 license of Autocad LT only to find out that it will work for sometime.

Its a huge investment for small company.

Thank you!

It's called "blowing you off": happens when you call someone clueless who does not care about their job, reading from a script, and only working "for the weekend".

There never has been a video card specific for LT (+/-$1000), it has no solid 3D or rendering abilities built into it, whether you are buying LT2013 or LT2012. But these newer versions can tap AutoCAD (+/-$4000) video card list to add hardware acceleration.

As I noted above, unless you want to commit to a high end laptop with a serious video card (borderline workstation-class that weighs a lot), most laptop manufacturers stick you with a intel-motherboard card with a 'brand-name' add-on that can choke under the pressure or a resource hog like AutoCAD/LT.

LT and AutoCAD both rely on processor speed (3ghz or higher, dual or more cores means nothing to this program)) and excess RAM (6Gig in Win7) to perform best, and having a 7200rpm harddrive (or Solid State Drive) adds to the performance experience. Do your light laptops meet all three requirements?

Hi Dean,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Actually when our user tried the Dell Precision although it was fast but they didnt like it because it was so heavy.

And since they only need AUTOCAD LT 2013 because they only need 2D

Would the Dell XPS 14 or 15z or maybe even Dell Latitude 6520 will for 2D?

Would the Nvidia NVS 4200M and Nvidia GT 525M work for this version?

Again thank you!

You answered your won question: compare that system's hardware with the three major requirements I noted at the bottom of my previous reply.

no dean, it didnt answer the question. Yes precision is fast  but we dont need a rocket to go to manhattan from bronx. LOL

We a merely asking what would be the recommended and certified videocard for LT (2D only)?

I supposed Autodesk Engineer should provide to properly guide their users.

We are a little bit lost and we need help as a new client.Smiley Happy

Hi,

For graphical cad, just 2D with AutoCAD LT 2013, it will be enough with an entry level workstation like, NVidia quadro 1000M, or 2000M.

The NVIDIA 4000M will be more fluent, with 3D designs.

There is also the Quadro NVS 4200M, and Quadro 3000M and the new serie K3000M
http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadrofx_go.html

There is a brand new line of graphic card, that has to be certified, and they should be faster than the previous release.

There is also ATI:
http://www.amd.com/us/products/workstation/graphics/ati-firepro-mobility/Pages/ati-firepro-mobility....

All those Graphic cards are brand new and if you like to be sure, they are really certified, then you will have to take an older models that have been tested already...

Best Regards,

Hi Laurent, thanks for the call and advsied, we will be getting XPS 15z with GT 525M since when we tried it, it works flawlessly. and since our users also demanded lightweight.
