Autocad LT 2011 won't install on Windows 7

When I try to install on my new computer I just keep getting a dialogue box that says "You cannot install this product on the current operating system".  I purchassed Autocad in about January 2011 and have a valid licence.  The setup program gives me no other options.  Any ideas?  I just downloaded the program files rather than buy a hard copy if that helps any.  Thanks.

Is Win 7 32 or 64 bit?

Did you download the 32 or 64 bit LT version?

Never thought of that.  Old system is 32 bit and new windows 7 is 64 bit.  Is there any place I can get the 64 bit Autocad LT 2011 without buying new?

You may need to try this route since 2011 versions are no longer listed for download on the Autodesk site:

Autodesk Media Request:
http://autodeskdocandmedia.com/

I think the 32 bit can be installed on 64 bit OS in Win 7. Try posting that query or searching this Forum:

So I got a hold of autodesk and they allowed me to redownload the 64 bit version, and now everything's installed and working properly.  Thanks for the help!

I've got the same problem. How did you get a hold of autodesk and get the 64bit download?

Copied from Charles' second reply above.

Autodesk Media Request:
http://autodeskdocandmedia.com/

or if you are on subscription you can download up to three versions back by signing into your subscription account.

or you can might try contacting your autodesk reseller or an autodesk reseller in your area if you don't already have one and see what options they can offer you.

You may also need to follow this path if the others are unsatisfactory:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=15892664&linkID=9240817

Always request a disc of your product when purchasing either on line or thru the Subscription process.

Subscription would be the easiest way to have access to 32 bit and 64 bit applications if you know that you will be changing your OS in the next year or two or three.

Expect that 64 bit will be all you can get in the near future.
