Need help on how to create a template (text document) that I can use for attribute extraction for the below block.

Block Name: CE108A-07

Department Code           IDARMI

Room Code                     DNSUI

Room Name line 1           IMAGING

Room Name line 2           ULTRASOUND

Room Number                 1516A

Programmed Area          150

Actual Area                       170

Floor and Base Finish

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Can't  help much beyond this link as I do not do this often enough

The attached file is a simple one I use (Actually I had to look up this very information to remember how to use it).

BL:X N007001
BL:Y N007001
BL:LAYER C020000

ROOM CODE C008000
ROOM NAME LINE 1 C015000
ROOM NAME LINE 2 C015000

Underscore the Space at the name and see what happens.

And that is the name of your Attribute Tag is it not? If the Attribute Tag for Department Code is something else; say FUZZBUTT, then the name for that field needs to be FUZZBUTT C008000

Spaces are not allowed in Attribute Tags either.

DEPARTMENT_CODE C008000

Charles,

thanks for the quick response

added underscore on every space on the character tags (see below) but still have an error message: **Invalid field specifications:

this time it did not specify which field has error.

BL:NAME C009000
BL:X N007001
BL:Y N007001
BL:LAYER C020000
DEPARTMENT_CODE C008000
ROOM_CODE C008000
ROOM_NAME_LINE_1 C015000
ROOM_NAME_LINE_2 C015000
ROOM_NUMBER C009000
PROGRAMMED_AREA C006000
ACTUAL_AREA C006000

And these are the Tag names of the Attributes for the data you are trying to extract:

DEPARTMENT_CODE

ROOM_CODE
ROOM_NAME_LINE_1
ROOM_NAME_LINE_2
ROOM_NUMBER
PROGRAMMED_AREA
ACTUAL_AREA

I hope I am not doing more damage than helping.

The ATTEXT link does have a warning under the radio button Procedures about not using the Tab key stroke but rather spaces when aligning columns. Possibly?

Did you leave a Return at the end of the Extraction file?

At this point the only thing that makes sense to me is that the Tag name and Field code for the extraction file are not the same.

How about posting the drawing so I can give it a shot?

And the Extraction file?
