autoCAD lt 2005 to Quarkxpress 6.0 to PDF

I am working on company product manuals. I am taking drawings from autoCAD lt 2005 and pasting them directly into Quarkxpress 6.0. I then export them from Quark to PDF so they can be e-mailed and put on our web site. The drawings look fine in CAD and when they are pasted into Quark, when I export them to PDF the drawings have a few small problems. The 0’s in the measurements and most of the circles turn to a light gray color instead of staying black. I am fairly new to CAD and I would appreciate any advice I can get on this.
thanks a ton, 😃

Are you just using quarkexpress to generate PDF files, or are you using the
cad content in a sheet design in qx then exporting?

Are you using ttf or shx fonts in cad?

Copy/Paste is no way to catch quality content from any graphics or cad
application.

i am using quark to generate the PDF as i have imported other graphic elements into the manual. i exported the drawings to PDF directly from CAD and had a similar problem with certain parts of the drawings turning gray.

i have not had much luck trying to save the drawings in any other usable format to import them to quark.

sorry. the drawings have come directly from the engineering dept so it took a minute for me to figure it out. it looks like they are using txt.shx. is there a way to export portions of a drawing to a high quality image format such as tiff or jpeg?
thanks 😃

OK, based on all of your descriptions, it would appear you
are not using a plot style table to plot, or your text is
not all WHITE when you plot.

Start with the MONOCHROME plot style table: if it is CTB
format, that should be all you need. If it is STB format,
you will need an AutoCAD lesson from someone in your office
(or the engineer you mention).

You can also change the text style for something more
substantial: try ARIAL if you find ROMAND does not work for
you: txt.shx is a terrible font.
