AutoCAD 2013 LT Saving

We are having intermittant issues when saving via 2013 LT.  We default our save to 2000 format for others of the DT's on projects, however, recently after saving drawings do not seem to resemble what was previously saved.  The BAK files have an element of the work undertaken but not all of it.

is this an inherent problem with 2013 LT?

It is running on Win 7 32bit system.

Explain a bit more:

Why are you interested in the BAK files? Are the DWG files corrupt?

Are the missiing elements not showing up in earlier Versions of CAD? i.e The reason you save down to 2000.

Saving down to 2000-format is a CONVERSION process, not a SAVE process. Not sure what you used previously (apparently a state secret LOL), but 2013 adds yet another new DWG format so the conversions will take longer.

Also remember, if you are using features not found in 2000 you are also forcing AutoCAD to create roundtrip information and the process is longer for that.

Like all AutoCAD versions since 2000 through 2013, you have to set ISAVEPERCENT variable to 0 (zero) to get a full backup and not a partial one. Could this be your issue, you forgot to set the save percentage in OPTIONS command? Try it and check your BAK files.

Also note: if you want your BAK file to be exactly the same as your DWG file, and not one step/save behind, you must SAVE twice (that is, you hit SAVE two times), and not one. This has always been the case with AutoCAD, nothing new.

Thanks for the info! Yeah state secrets, but im not supposed to know. I have never set the ISAVEPERCENT from it's default so will look into that as a help! Cheers again! You can find ISAVEPERCENT in OPTIONS command>Open/Save Tab, the box labelled INCREMENTAL SAVE PERCENTAGE.
