Area within block as an attribute

Here is the problem:

I'm detailing many shapes made of plates. I want to create a block with attributes as follows:

NO.
Name
Area

Then, I want to export it to csv file and import to MSExcell to make part list.

Area*thickness=volume
volume*density=mass of each element

Is it possible to put area of an object (i.e. polyline) as an attribute to a block?
I know that I can put FIELD in a block with attributes with "Area" property of an object. But only in full AutoCAD 2006 not in LT

When I check properties of an object there is Area property - Can I export it outside AutoCAD?

Thanks for any kind of help.

Lucas
