Alias Entry Problems

I am working in 2015 LT. I am entering most commands using key aliases. the problem I am having is that I am typing, and returning so fast that the computer only accepts the first letter of the alias. I try to extend (ex) and end up erasing (e). I can see both letters on the screen in the dynamic input though.

Any thoughts?

Turn off DYNMODE as a test, problem go away?

I set the variable to 0 and that seems to have fixed it. Thank you for the assistance.
