Activation of AutoCAD LT 2011 - Windows 8

I have been trying to activated my ACAD LT 2011 on my new Laptop with no success. the software was originally purchased in 2010 for my desk top. I was able to successfully download and install the software, however i have not been able to activated? could there be any issuse with having Windows 8 as the operating software? any suggestions are greatly appreciated.\

it could be because of windows 8 since it is not supported

thank you i found out this the hard way. I have tried to activate on my laptop that has Windows 7, just still having the same activation issue. I guess I will have to try to chat with someone at tech support? thanks again for you reply.
